Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Tavern Recruit mobile application (the "App"), operated by Tavern Recruit ("we", "us", or "our"), a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

By creating an account or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

1. About the App

Tavern Recruit is a mobile application designed to help tabletop roleplaying players and Game Masters find people to play with. Users create profiles detailing their games, playstyle, experience level, and availability, and post notices to a shared board: open tables looking for players, and players looking for a game. Applying to a notice, or being invited to one, creates a match and opens a direct chat. The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years of age to use Tavern Recruit. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. We reserve the right to terminate accounts where we have reason to believe the user does not meet the minimum age requirement.

3. Account Registration

You may register for an account using Google or Apple sign-in. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You agree to notify us immediately at support@tavernrecruit.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

You agree to provide accurate and truthful information when setting up your profile, and to keep it up to date.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You must not:

• Use the App in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity or gaming experience
• Harass, intimidate, threaten, or abuse other users
• Upload or share content that is offensive, harmful, defamatory, or illegal
• Use the App for commercial purposes, including advertising or solicitation
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, its servers, or any related systems
• Scrape, copy, or reproduce any content from the App without our express permission
• Use automated tools (bots, scripts, crawlers) to interact with the App

5. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the App, including your profile photo, bio, and gaming preferences ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant Tavern Recruit a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and reproduce that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the App.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. We do not endorse, verify, or take responsibility for any User Content submitted by users.

6. Matching and Interactions

Tavern Recruit facilitates connections between users for gaming purposes. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any user's profile information, and we are not responsible for the conduct of users within or outside the App. You interact with other users at your own discretion and risk.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, branding, and technology within the App — excluding User Content — is owned by or licensed to Tavern Recruit and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use, copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the App without our prior written consent.

8. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please read it carefully to understand how we collect and use your data.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time without notice.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Tavern Recruit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damage to goodwill.

Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if your conduct poses a risk to other users or to the App. You may delete your account at any time via the App settings.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
